StageFOCUS: About Stage Focus Theatre Company

Stage Focus Theatre Company was formed in 1996, with the aim of promoting active participation and creativity in the theatre arts for people aged 16 and over. We aim to provide members with the opportunity to get involved with all aspects of theatre and we have staged performances at a variety of venues, including the Gulbenkian, Live Theatre and Newcastle Castle Keep. Our wide range of productions have included Shakespeare, Alan Bennett, Terry Pratchett and C P Taylor as well as the work of our own writers. We are also involved in interactive theatre and have performed themed 'Murder Mystery' nights.

We typically meet once a week in central Newcastle. We use our meetings to discuss, explore and rehearse scripted theatre as well as involving ourselves in workshops. Previous workshops have included voice, character, masks and improvisation.
Social events may also be arranged.
StageFOCUS welcomes anyone interested in the performing arts to our group. Our members have varied experience and many complementary skills from performance, direction and production through to lighting and publicity.

Our prerequisites for becoming involved are enthusiasm and dedication.
We are a non-commercial group - none of our members are paid for their work.
