Adapted by Stephen Briggs, "Wyrd Sisters" is Terry Pratchett's
take on Shakespeare's "Scottish Play". The play is set in the
kingdom of Lancre and the sprawling city of Ankh-Morpork on Discworld, a
flat, circular world carried through space on the back of four great
elephants standing on the back of Great A'Tuin, the star turtle. Truth,
the power of words, the nature and exercise of politics and government
and the purpose and influence of theatre and its ability to change -
even distort - our perceptions of truth are questions raised in the play.
